“ A rating should be based on what the business actually is, and not what the person reading it is looking for. Townhall Tavern does not pretend to be a fancy bar. We quite affectionately referred to it as a “dive bar“. If you’re looking for everything to be perfect and pristine and feel like you’re on the Front Range, then I guess you will be disappointed and should go somewhere else. But if you’re looking for a place that is a lot of fun, open late, has a great selection of beer, and a solid selection of friendly locals, then this would be the place for you! Thursday night they have karaoke which is an absolute blast. If you do go, be sure to get a “Mexican candy“ shot. It’s the signature drink invented by the owner/bartender Brian. I love this place. Anyone that’s writing a bad review about it clearly shouldn’t have gone in in the first place. Us locals are incredibly loyal to this establishment. If you want to be “part of the crew“ then come in. We would love to see you and welcome you here and to the wonderful town of Montrose. ”

The drinks are affordable and good, and the bartenders are kind and know their stuff. Definitely would recommend to people going on a bar crawl as one of their destinations. ”
